It is a requirement of the Academy that applicants use the Texas Department of Public Safety Beaumont Facility, located at 7200 Eastex Freeway in Beaumont, Texas, for all Academy testing requirements. The applicant's driving record, physical exam, and drug screen results must meet DOT standards to qualify for acceptance in the Academy. Each applicant will be notified as soon as possible concerning their acceptance status to the Academy. Tuition payment will not be collected until an individual has satisfactorily met all admission requirements and been officially accepted into the training program.

Entrance into the Academy is completed on a first come first serve basis. You must submit all required documents and payment of the first portion before you are assigned a class start date.Completing this registration does not enroll you in an upcoming course. All documents must be submitted in addition to the registration and first installment of payment (or voucher of tuition assistance) must be received before a course start date will be assigned.


Class “A” Commercial Driver License Training - $3,000

250 hours of instruction covering an eight week period. Class begins each day at 7:00 a.m. and ends at approximately 2:00 pm each day. Daily class ending times depend on class size, student scheduled Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) test times, and/or unforeseen equipment malfunctions. You will have two opportunities to complete and pass the driving portion of the program with DPS tester. After two failed attempts, you will be required to re-enroll in the program to continue. 

Applicants must:

  • be at least 21 years of age
  • possess a valid Texas Class A CDL Learner’s Permit before the beginning of the 7th scheduled class date
  • pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) Physical Examination and Drug Screen
  • upload a copy of your social security card & driver's license

Class “B” Commercial Driver License Training - $1,500

Class “B” Commercial Drivers License (CDL) consists of forty-five (45) instructional hours. Classes meet Monday through Friday for three weeks. The morning session runs from 7 am - 10 am and the afternoon session runs from 11 am - 2 pm. You will have two opportunities to complete and pass the driving portion of the program with DPS examiner. After two failed attempts, you will be required to re-enroll and pay to enroll in the program to continue with an additional two exams.

Applicants must:

  • be at least 21 years of age
  • possess a valid Texas Class B CDL Learner’s Permit before a class date will be set
  • pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) Physical Examination and Drug Screen
  • upload a copy of your social security card & driver's license

To begin the application process students must:


Refresher Course - $550

This course is available to individuals that currently possess a Class “A” or "B" Commercial Drivers License (CDL), and have past experience driving commercial vehicles. 

Applicants must:

  • be at least 21 years of age
  • possess a valid Class "A" Commercial Drivers License before a class date will be set
  • possess a current Medical Examiners Certificate
  • have past experience driving tractor/trailer or combination vehicles
  • upload a copy of your social security card & driver's license

Advanced Refresher Course - $1,000

This course is available to individuals that currently possess a Class “A” or “B” Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), and have past experience but lack recent experience driving commercial vehicles. 

Applicants must:

  • be at least 21 years of age
  • possess a valid Class "A" Commercial Drivers License before a class date will be set
  • possess a current Medical Examiners Certificate
  • have past experience driving tractor/trailer or combination vehicles
  • upload a copy of your social security card & driver's license
