Truck Driving Academy

New Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) Requirements: Beginning February 7, 2022, the new Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT) regulations require that all entry-level drivers of commercial motor vehicles receive training from a provider listed on FMCSA's Training Provider Registry. Truck Driving Academy is one of them!

With a critical nationwide shortage of professional drivers, commercial truck driving opportunities for local, regional, and over-the-road positions have never been better! Start a new career by completing one of Lamar Institute of Technology's Truck Driving Academy courses.

All students are required to have their Commercial Learner's Permit(CLP) before registering for the class. To prepare for the CLP test, use the link below to download Texas: Commercial Motor Vehicle Driver's Handbook. Specific chapters are listed in the links below. For more information about the program, including class dates, and costs, please call (409)-257-0070 or email truckdriving@lit.edu
